ABOUT MR WOODWARD

A consultant-led approach to general and colorectal surgery

Mr Alan Woodward is a consultant general and colorectal surgeon with more than 30 years of experience, appointed consultant since 1995 following training in Wales, Liverpool and the United States. His clinical interests span hernia surgery, colorectal disease and gallbladder conditions, with particular expertise in complex and recurrent hernia repair. More than 15 years ago, he founded the Cardiff Hernia Clinic, and his broad surgical training has given him command of techniques ranging from mesh to non-mesh suture repair, including hernia repair under local anaesthesia for elderly or higher-risk patients. Every patient is guided personally by Mr Woodward, from initial assessment through to full recovery.
